Update #1

Update posted 4 months ago

We got to see our best good Jazzy girl today!

Jazzy is recovering in her foster home nicely, and today she got a follow up x-ray done with our friends at Roseland Animal Hospital. Her x-rays look good, and Jazzy is recovering nicely. Ask anyone who's met her, and they will tell you how much they love Jazzy. Not only is this girl adorable, she really may be the sweetest dog in the world.

We are so happy that we were able to say "yes" to the lifesaving treatment Jazzy received from Emergency Veterinary Care Centers because we know our community of animal lovers will help our most vulnerable pets. Please, if you can, consider donating to Jazzy's vet bill. Paying this bill will ensure that the next time a homeless animal of our community needs medical care, we can say 'yes' for them as well.

On December 1, 2023, Jazzy was surrendered to the Humane Society by her owner due to housing issues. Jazzy is a very sweet and smart 3 year old bully mix who knows tricks like sit and shake. Like all of our shelter dogs, Jazzy was evaluated and prepared for adoption. This meant she needed to be seen by our shelter vet for her rabies vaccination and to be spayed.

On December 21, 2023, Jazzy was spayed but afterwards aspirated her stomach contents into her lungs. This along with exposure to kennel cough created a scary situation for Jazzy. She was suffering for respiratory distress and was rushed to the Emergency Veterinary Care Centers for hospitalization. She was later diagnosed with pneumonia.

Jazzy has undergone IV fluids, several rounds of medications, oxygenation and respiratory efforts monitored closely, and nebulization to help clear material from the lungs and improve her overall comfort.

On Christmas morning, Jazzy was discharged from EVCC and sent home with a foster who hopes to adopt her once she receives a clean bill of health. Jazzy's Christmas miracle is only made possible by the generous donations we receive from our supporters.

The cost of Jazzy's emergency care has amounted to approximately $4,330.00 + the cost of her antibiotics. We hope to raise $4,400 to cover all of these expenses.

Any donation amount is greatly appreciated and allows us to continue to say "Yes" when animals are in need of emergency care. If you can, please help us cover Jazzy's expenses by donating today.

Thank you!
