Andrew moved to Sweden from Florida, U.S.A. where he worked for over a decade within the mental health & addiction field with both adults and children. He decided he wanted to intervene earlier in people’s struggles with mental illness and addiction and he completed his masters degree in school counseling and now currently works at International School of Stockholm Region with primary age students (K-5). He’s been working with in the international school community educating students on social & emotional skills to help prepare them to manage their thoughts and emotions in this ever changing challenging world. Andrew prioritizes teaching about mental health and how key healthy and meaningful connection with others is to our wellbeing. Andrew is a avid runner and uses his passion for Ultra running as an example of the importance of physical exercise to our mental health. He also encourages others to challenge themselves to do things outside of our comfort zone. “This is where we grow and change for the better. It doesn’t happen without being brave and doing scary things”, says Andrew.
