This holiday season I'm supporting Clean Air: Organizing for Health and Justice. Residents deserve to live in healthy, strong and equitable communities. I believe in the work that Clean Air is doing. The members and staff of this organization are unmatched- they are dedicated, tireless, and hungry for more justice. Their heart is the reason I dedicate so much of my time as Chair on their Board of Directors.
If you believe in a world where our environment promotes health and equity and where our systems place communities at the forefront of decision making, and if you believe residents should have a voice in what happens in their communities... I need your support today.
This year, I am supporting Clean Air by personally fundraising to ensure they’re ready to continue the fight in 2021. My goal is to raise $1,500 from my friends and family to go directly towards our organizing next year.
Your support will directly help further Clean Air's mission to build power by developing grassroots leaders who organize their communities to run and win environmental justice and public health campaigns in Western New York. And your donation will be matched dollar for dollar- so your support will go twice as far!
When everything in the world seems uncertain, you can be sure that Clean Air’s hard work will continue. When we organize, we win. In 2020, Clean Air and its members came together to care for one another through hard times and built a more beautiful and clear vision for the world that we all deserve (during a pandemic, no less!) Because of their work…
- There is a mutual aid network to support our members and make sure we have what we need through COVID-19;
- There is a resident-led Working Group ensuring accountability in the cleanup of Tonawanda Coke;
- Seneca Babcock residents are re-imagining the polluted Battaglia Demolition site as a “carbon sink” with habitat restoration and green infrastructure; and
- Former Tesla workers, in their fight for dignity and justice, are showing the world that climate justice cannot be divorced from racial and economic justice.
Why donate to Clean Air? Because we all deserve to live in healthy, strong and equitable communities. I believe in the work that Clean Air is doing and the world that they are building. This holiday season, I hope you will join me in supporting smart, effective organizing.
Lets keep fighting against systemic inequalities and environmental racism. Sending lots of love to you this holiday season!
