Johnson Lake Emergency Medical Services was established in 1980. We are celebrating 45 years of existence! We believe this is a huge milestone, and we are extremely proud of our volunteers who continue to contribute their time and energy to serving the Johnson Lake Community and the surrounding areas.
Each year, our volunteers are required to complete training hours in specific areas mandated by the state. We attend classes during EMS Week in Kearney, participate in in-house training, and watch videos. All the training we do can earn us credit from the state upon completion.
Johnson Lake Emergency Medical Services operates solely on donations from all areas of Dawson and Gosper Counties. We are not affiliated with any government entity.
All money received we use for sending members to classes, purchasing updated equipment, and building maintenance.
This year, we were able to purchase new AED’s each member has one, and we were fortunate enough to purchase extras for the following businesses:
Chapel of the Lake, Lakeside Country Club, DC Express, Big Johnson, Medo’s, Nautical Rose, and Lexington Catholic Church.
PLEASE NOTE – IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT WE CAN RECRUIT NEW MEMBERS TO THE EMS!!
Areas we cover: Plum Creek Canyon, Johnson Lake, and a five-mile radius of these areas.
Please feel free to contact any of our members to inquire about our training programs.
