Fostering dogs is something Dan and I enjoy doing together. Fetching Tails Foundation provides everything for their foster homes such as vetting costs, toys, food, beds, training, etc. We have fostered 13 dogs with Fetching Tails Foundation (FTF) & we’re honored to receive the ‘Fosters of the Year’ award at this years virtual gala. 13 fosters may not seem like a lot to some however our average length of stay for one of our dogs is about 6 months. Some fosters find their homes sooner and some may take a little longer. Either way we are committed until adoption day. Our goal is to find them their best fit home to thrive in.
Fostering dogs challenges us but is also so rewarding.
Fetching Tails Foundation has on average about 60-70 dogs in their care at one time spending about $230,000 annually on medical costs alone. On average FTF rescues about 50 dogs per month and treat them medically costing about $450 per dog. Our sweet foster Jack is one of these dogs.
This #givingtuesday I’m raising funds for FTF so they can continue their efforts helping dogs who need the care while they wait for their forever home. Dogs like Jack.
