On Christmas Eve, The KISS Theatre Family lost one of its most prominent and supportive members, Mr. Joseph Sheridan, preferably and lovingly known as the one any only “Joe”.

For over 35 years, Joe Sheridan has been consistently involved with nearly every theatre in the Wyoming Valley, but he dedicated the last 14 years of his life to KISS Theatre Company.

He began by designing world transforming sets and scenery for the children, but his passion and dedication led him to serve on our board of directors, even as Board President.

When it seemed that he could not possibly share any more of his talents with our students, he agreed to start directing our teenage group.  He had an innate ability to dazzle the students with his knowledge, experience, and execution, and it was one of his greatest joys.  It was an honor and a privilege to be directed by him, and work alongside him.

Joe’s vast creative abilities and vision were only matched by his personality.  He had a special sense of humor that was only offered to those worthy, a kindness that knew no bounds, that was tempered just enough to demand the very best of his students and peers on and off the stage.

Through it all, he remained a strong advocate for inclusivity, always placing the student’s experience above all else.

Joe’s loved ones have decided that in his memory, they would like donations to be made in his honor to KISS Theatre Company’s Scholarship Fund.

We were blessed to have had Joe in our corner all these years, and promise to keep his legacy alive, by continuing to share his lessons and stories for generations to come.
