Our family is a proud supporter of DC Central Kitchen and its life-changing solutions to hunger and poverty. In this incredible time of need for so many members of our community, we hope you will join us in supporting DC Central Kitchen's emergency response to COVID-19.
DC Central Kitchen has become a lifeline for our city’s children, seniors, and families. The organization is serving more than 40,000 emergency meals each week at dozens of sites across the city, keeping healthy food on the shelves of corner stores, and supporting Culinary Job Training students whose training and careers have been disrupted by this crisis.
COVID-19 has also forced the cancellation of DCCK’s annual Hungry for Change fundraising breakfast (the event Amanda created in 2016 when she worked at DCCK), which was expected to raise $100,000 in essential program funds on May 7. Together, we can help close this funding gap as DC Central Kitchen expands its emergency response services to keep pace with our city’s needs. Will you join us in supporting DCCK?
A gift today will go right to good use in this crisis:
- $150= Covers the non-reimbursable funding gap for feeding 100 DC youth for a day
- $240= Provide groceries to a family of four for 12 weeks during this crisis
- $490= Serve breakfast and lunch to 65 children who would otherwise count on school meals
- $1,140= Provide case management, groceries, and toiletries to a DCCK culinary student whose training was interrupted by this crisis
- $4,500= Provide a week's worth of meals to 200 home-bound older adults
- $10,000= Provide a job training scholarship for a new culinary student when COVID-19 has passed
