This is a Generosity Moment, and YOU can join the movement by giving.
When you give, you are unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.
Every Woman Works is participating in #GivingTuesday, a day of unity to serve financially.
Every Woman Works is on the front
lines of this pandemic helping women
who have been displaced from their
work and homes. The demand for our services is growing exponentially due to Covid-19.
Together we can change lives. We ask that you give so that we can bring light and hope to women who want to go to work and provide for their families.
Brenda’s Success Story
“I remember taking my first drink at
five years old. This was to start a dangerous
pattern for her for many years.” Growing up
Brenda lived with many different families. This
created an unstable world for her.
After graduating from high school she was
involved in several unhealthy relationships and
eventually had six children. She tragically
lost her daughter at the age of four. At times in
her life she was homeless, living under a bridge.
“Being a homeless mother is so hard. You
have to care for your children, try to find
a job, find a place to stay…. all at the same
time.”
After years of shelters, homelessness and
drug and alcohol abuse, Brenda found her-
self in a hospital. “I was hopeless. I was at
rock bottom. I called my pastor. I
surrendered.” Brenda went to treatment
and was then accepted into Every Woman
Works and everything began to change.
“I connected so closely with my fellow class-
mates and the staff. They always listened
when I was feeling down and they never
judged me. In class my teachers showed me
how talented I really am. I realized that I had skills!”
“Every Woman Works gave me hope. They
believed in me and told me that I was worthy
and loved. I love EWW for giving me my smile
back.”
Since graduating, Brenda has been accepted into
a 25-week internship, Higher Hope, with Randstad.
“I know that I will do well in this internship.
I just know it! I have HOPE today and so much to
look forward to.”
In five years Brenda wants to be a homeowner, have a degree or certification in Human Resources, and be working in a job that she loves. “I hope to be in a position one day to give back – give back to women who are homeless or living with an addiction.”
