Joshua Willie Belton

Transplant Type - Kidney

In 2007, when he was just 17 years old, Joshua was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease caused by hypertension. Sadly, kidney disease runs in his family, and now his kidneys are failing. Doctors say a kidney transplant is critical.

During such an overwhelming time, Joshua is extremely thankful for the love and support of his family. Many of them have sacrificed time away from their workplaces and loved ones to make sure Joshua receives the care he needs. Although he’s often exhausted, he still enjoys playing sports when he has the energy. Because his health issues prevented him from being able to concentrate on school, he had to take time off from college, but he hopes to return some day and obtain his degree. He looks forward to the transplant that will allow him to resume a sense of normalcy in his life, but right now—he needs your help.

The average kidney transplant costs approximately $335,000. And that’s only the beginning. Even with health insurance, which will cover the cost of the transplant, he faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of his life, he will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are very expensive, and they’re as critical to his survival as the transplant itself.

You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to NFT in honor of Joshua. If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the NFT South Carolina Transplant Fund, 3249 W. Sarazens Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Joshua Belton" on the memo line.

Thank you for your generosity!
