JR made it to Homeward Trails, but we still need to cover the cost of his dental if we're going to be able to get it on the books. It's not JR's fault he didn't get the care he needed before he was surrendered to a rural shelter. He's counting on us to get him what he needs to have a healthy and happy future. The shelter he came from will cover part of the cost of the dental, so we just need to raise a little more!
JR is a 7 yr old chihuahua mix who was surrendered by his owner to a shelter in rural Virginia. We are unsure why he was surrendered, as he is seemingly very sweet. Unfortunately, JR is also in desperate need of a dental, and medical expenses like this often leave dogs overlooked, especially in rural shelters that have low resources, low foot traffic, and higher euthanasia rates. JR's shelter has been able to provide a partial sponsorship for the dental he needs but we still need to cover the rest of this cost as well as the vetting he needs to get him ready for adoption.
