Judith Stolz
Transplant type: Kidney
Judith Stolz is awaiting a new lease on life. For three generations, her family has been plagued by kidney disease. In 2007, she found out her kidneys were failing and was initially diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). In 2015, that diagnosis was changed to Acquired Polycystic Kidney disease, and doctors said a kidney transplant was necessary to her survival. Luckily, Judith received a transplant on April 25, 2017!
This has been a difficult time for Judith and her family. She is extremely grateful for the love and support of her three grown children who have all taken an active role in her care. She lives with her daughter, who is a certified nutritionist, and has been helpful in creating a healthy diet for her. Since having her transplant, Judith is looking forward to regaining her strength and active lifestyle. She enjoys hiking, yardwork, and being with her three grandchildren. She’s active in her church and sings in the choir. She would like to return to work part-time, volunteer to help senior citizens and be more active in church. But right now, she needs your help.
Unfortunately, Judith’s new life comes at a very high price.
The average kidney transplant costs approximately $335,000. Even though health insurance covered much of the cost of her transplant, she still faces significant medical expenses related to the surgery. She will need a lifetime of follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. These medications are very costly, and they’re as important to her survival as the transplant itself.
You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to the National Foundation for Transplants in honor of Judith.
If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the NFT Texas Transplant Fund, 3249 W. Sarazen’s Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Judith Stolz” in the memo line.
Thank you for your generosity!
