On this 51st anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion, we celebrate the spirit of Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, two legendary activists who sparked a riot that changed the world and led to the formation of Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries (S.T.A.R.), an organization whose first priority was creating housing for trans and gender non-conforming people experiencing homelessness. It is in that spirit that Trans Housing Atlanta Program, Inc. (THAP) started a capital campaign to raise $150,000.00 for purchase of physical housing within metro Atlanta, accessible to rapid transit, to be owned and operated by the community for the community. Your contribution to our Give OUT Day fundraiser will go for the purpose of raising the needed capital to enable us to provide emergency and intermediate term housing that centers transgender and gender non-binary individuals who experience homelessness.
