Help Macy meet her Service Dog!

Hello Everyone! I want to take a moment to talk to you about our amazing kid Macy, in case you don't already know her. Macy is an amazingly talented human, who goes to a school for the arts where she studies both Piano and sings in the choir. Macy has an incredible sense of humor, is amazingly kind (as much as any preteen :D) and is one of the greatest humans I've ever know (I am a little biased). 

Macy also happens to have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (Hypermobile type) as well as P.O.T.S and autonomic dysfunction (This affects her blood pressure and heart rate and leads to episodes of syncope or passing out) and A.M.P.S or amplified musoskeletal pain syndrome. 

While Macy works incredibly hard not to let her conditions slow her down, as she gets older the conditions worsen over time, and she has been struggling to navigate the world of public school as well as maintain the independence every teen wants to have. After much chatting with her specialists we have agreed that a service dog would help Macy have her independence and keep her safe in an environment that isn't always designed to support people with different needs.

We have been lucky enough to be able to work with 4 Paws for ability to get Macy this much needed service dog, and this is where we truly need the help of our friends and family and community.  The service fee for a service dog is a staggering 20,000 dollars that insurance will not help with. We have been encouraged to reach out to our community and ask for help so here we are. Every little bit counts, as Macy can not get assigned to a class (where she will have her pup chosen for her and classes will begin) until we meet that fee.
