Join us on Friday February 22nd, 2019 to celebrate Kaicho's 77th Birthday!

In Japan, when a person reaches their 77th birthday, it is cause for a special occasion. This is called “Kiju” in Japanese. The Japanese characters for kiju literally mean “joy” and “long life” and is a recognition of living a long and happy life.

6:30PM-7:30PM All Belts General Workout with Kaicho

  • Open to adult students from all Seido branches 
  • Pre-registration required due to limited capacity*
  • $20 training fee will apply and be used as a donation to Seido Juku Benefit Foundation
  • Bring your strong Seido spirit and make this a special birthday workout for Kaicho!

8:00PM-10:30PM Special Birthday Celebration for Kaicho 

  • Located at Stone Manor Restaurant (101 Saw Mill River Road, Hawthorne, NY 10532)
  • $25 per person for entry and food/soda/tax/tips 
  • Cash bar will be available
  • Dress code is business casual

In lieu of gifts, Kaicho and Mrs. Nakamura asked that students instead make a donation to the Seido Juku Benefit Foundation. As many of you know, Kaicho's foundation is dedicated to sharing the mental, physical, and spiritual benefits of karate with challenged or disadvantaged populations. The foundation also raises funds on behalf of community programs throughout New York.
