Sponsor a Child for Kids' Club at Home

The Gray House team is excited to announce our Kids’ Club at Home After School Program for the 2020-21 academic year!  Building off the tremendous success of our summer program, where children connected with a diverse group of community mentors to learn new skills such as drumming, watercolor painting, Zumba, engineering, and meditative yoga, this unique remote program promises an educational and engaging after school experience.  Each day there will be time dedicated to homework help, as well as a wide range of opportunities for children to be physically active, emotionally centered, and intellectually curious.  

Coordinated by educators, this program serves children in grades 2-5 who live in Springfield and are from families considered to be low-income.  The program runs September through May and is scheduled Monday through Thursday from 4:00 pm to 5:15 pm.  Due to the current economic hardship brought about by COVID-19, there is no cost for children to participate.  Furthermore, each participant will receive free activity supplies to encourage daily engagement. 

This year, the main objective of the Kids’ Club at Home After School Program is to ensure that our children continue to have access to a broad and balanced curriculum, regardless of disruptions brought about by the pandemic.  In addition to academic support, our program will incorporate the arts, physical education activities, STEM-based projects, and social emotional learning, all designed to help our children thrive during these difficult times.
