Blackout Challenge Day One: Choose an item
I’ve chosen this scrunchie as my black item for the month of March. My commitment to wear this item every day is to bring awareness to the men, women, and children who are stripped of their freedom through human trafficking.

I've committed to wearing one black clothing item every day this March. Through this 31-day challenge I'm learning more about the human trafficking crisis that exists in our world. I've chosen to support Veronica's Voice in their efforts to make an impact against human trafficking.
I first learned about Veronica’s Voice when I joined their Big Search 2019 event. Myself and dozens of other volunteers hit the streets looking for missing and endangered children. We spoke with store owners, customers, pedestrians; anyone who would stop and listen. We passed out flyers with pictures and descriptions of missing local children. Our efforts were a success, as nine children were recovered and returned home safely. Since KC is one of the biggest trafficking hubs in America, we all have a responsibility to learn and take action to stop human trafficking.
Will you support me in this quest? I've donated $20 to Veronica's Voice and hope you can donate too!
