Every morning when I have breakfast, mom will have news on and I get to know what's happening around us and around the world. Very often there are crazy news like natural disasters, disease, poverty, hunger, and even wars. It makes me think if there's a way I, as a kid, can help in any way to make our world a better place. Here comes the opportunity of MMUN.
MMUN, the Montessori Model United Nations is just like the actual UN except it's a minor version. Each year youth delegates from all over the world do research and studies and meet in the United Nations. There they suggest what the world should do to solve its problems, they also vote and debate with each other.
As a delegate of my school for the 2017 MMUN trip to New York, I'm super excited about this opportunity. We have already started learning about the global problems and possible ways to resolve them. I'm specially interested in life below water and life on land. I'm sure after all the preparation I'll be able to come up with some good ideas, and at MMUN I'll be able to meet with other kids from other places and countries, make relationships together, and we'll change the future of the world together.
