In honor of Khiah Ashby for her birthday

Hey guys,

Khiah's birthday is this Friday, August 7.  I wanted to do something to celebrate Khiah, but I also wanted her to feel love and support of family and friends during these trying times.  In the past, Khiah has expressed to me passion about the disparity of healthcare available to and received by black women.  Seeing as she is expecting, this seemed like a great way to honor Khiah and support her.  Ciara helped me find this organization, Black Mamas Matter Alliance.

It is an organization run exclusively by black women which works to advocate, drive research, build power, and shift culture for Black maternal health, rights, and justice.  They have 4 goals:

          Change Policy

          Cultivate Research

          Advance Care for Black Mamas

          Shift Culture 

Their vision is a world where Black mamas have the rights, respect, and resources to thrive before, during, and after pregnancy. 

I'm doing this as a surprise for her birthday and plan to share it with her on her special day. If you feel so inclined, please feel free to join me in celebrating and honoring Khiah for her birthday this Friday, Aug 7.  Thanks! and much love!
