I love hiking. Hiking appeals to me for the fundamental realization that to get where you are going, you have to put one step in front of the other and keep on moving. When I spent 18 days hiking the length of Vermont, from Massachusetts to Canada, it really hit home. To reach your goals, you need to face your problems, your barriers, your resistance, and overcome it all.

This summer I have the incredible opportunity to hike for something more than just myself, an opportunity to fight against barriers for other people too. As a fundraiser for Neema International, I will be hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro this July. Neema International is a non-profit organization providing education and support for nearly 200 orphaned and vulnerable children in East Africa, as well as developing sustainable building projects to provide jobs for local men and women. I first heard about this organization from my friend Kelly McClintock, who has been connected and volunteering/fundraising for Neema International since 2013. Kelly, her sister Molly, their cousin Mary, and I will be travelling to Tanzania to hike Mt. Kilimanjaro from July 2-8, 2018.

My fundraising goal for this climb is at least $2,000, which will be used to help build a new primary school, providing quality education for the children that Neema International serves. Any amount, even $5, helps!!! You can donate to this fundraising page or donations can also be sent to me through Venmo (@Katie-Cutting) and I will cover the Razoo website donation fees so that all of your $$ goes to Neema International.

Thank you! Asante!
