Monitoring the Situation

Update posted 4 years ago

The vet initially thought we may have to amputate, but luckily for King, the swelling has gone down. We are closely monitoring his situation and managing his pain with medication. However, if the swelling returns, he will most certainly need a biopsy.

This gentle giant has been dealing with the pain of his toe and struggling to walk for too long. We are doing everything we can to keep him on his feet. His sponsorship will help cover the cost of his ongoing care to ensure that gentle King only needs to worry about having more couch time with his favorite humans from here on out.

We need to act quickly on this one - King has developed what appears to be a tumor on one of his toes. The vet believes it's cancer and we need to amputate the toe and tumor before it starts spreading. In addition to the risk to his health, he's in a great deal of pain because this gentle giant can't walk without a major limp. Imagine not being able to walk but not having any other way around.

His sponsorship will help cover the cost of his surgery and support during his recovery, but it doesn't come cheap, especially for a rescue with so many other animals needing help. But King is worth it, we just need your help to make it happen.
