The mystery not yet solved but another problem
Daphne's medical saga continues. The prednisone helped some but she still periodically has grit in her urine. An expensive ultrasound showed no abnormalities in her bladder that can explain this. But we did discover a gallstone that needs to be addressed so she doesn't develop a dangerous blockage. So Daphne is getting another set of medications. The good news is our girl Daphne is happy, playful and as charming as ever. And practicing good litterbox habits!
We are glad we can help foster kitty Daphne but even with a kind rescue friendly vet, care is not cheap. Please please help us help Daphne by making a generous donation to her fund. She will need another ultrasound in the future and we are concerned that we won't have the funds to provide her the care she needs.
Poor sweet Kitty Daphne is having a rough, rough life. She first was discarded at a rural shelter facing euthanasia when they ran out of space. Thankfully, we rescued her in the nick of time.
And we hoped things would look up for this girl, but it was not to be. We could see the stress and anguish in her face and soon knew why. After initial testing, we found that she is shedding bladder cells. But we still didn't know why. Could've been an inflamed urinary tract or cystits - both painful and stressful. There has been so much bloodwork with so many tests.
Now, it appears that Daphne has asthma, AND she is suffering from gall stones. On top of it all, she has a very severe infection. Our sweet Daphne is currently hospitalized on an antibiotic IV to treat the infection. She will need to stay on antibiotics for several weeks, and we will continue to need to treat for her ongoing issues hoping for a good resolution.
Daphne just amazes us. Despite her health travails, this dear cat wakes up every morning happy to spread joy with her humans and cat friends. We have GOT to get this girl out of pain and on the mend. Please, please help us to get Daphne moving in the right direction. We can't give up on this girl.
