Footprints of Fight is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to providing services for the family and patient of pediatric cancer in Washington while going through the cancer treatment process. I'm involved in the organization through family friends who experienced pediatric cancer first hand.
The Nettleton family (pictured above) was forever changed on August 15, 2014 when their son, Mason Jon, was diagnosed with a rare form of pediatric cancer (Wilms tumor). Their support from family and friends prompted them to start an organization that would help other families navigate the treatment process during a difficult time. I am compelled to help this organization since cancer has touched my family and am especially proud to help kids and families!
In the middle of June 2020, I will be attempting to summit Mount Rainier as part of the "Climb for a Cause" 2020 challenge. Mount Rainier is a unique mountain within the contiguous United States. No other mountain is as extensively glaciated or has as much prominence. The scale and character of Mt. Rainier is more akin to an Alaskan or Andean peak. The highest trailhead requires the climber to gain 9,000 feet of elevation to reach the summit, as much as from Everest ABC to its summit. Even so, this challenge is nothing compared to families going through a pediatric cancer journey.
Thank-you for supporting my fundraiser - I am excited for my journey and honored to help families. Please note I am personally covering all travel and climb fees. All fund raising dollars go directly to Footprints of Fight!
