Domestic violence is an issue that is very close to my heart, and never more so than during October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
I’m proud to be a staff member of Between Friends, a Chicagoland nonprofit agency dedicated to breaking the cycle of domestic violence. Through a 24-hour helpline, counseling, and legal assistance, Between Friends provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals and families in crisis, while educating communities as part of the movement to end domestic violence.
For the past 18 months, Between Friends has been working hard to continue providing services to clients and to address their clients’ changing needs in the era of COVID-19. All the services this wonderful agency provides to clients, whether in-person or remote, are free of charge. During difficult economic times for so many people, this has been more important than ever. And it is only possible because of the donations they receive from people like you and me.
To ensure they can continue to meet the needs of domestic violence survivors, Between Friends is aiming to raise $80,000 by the end of October in a campaign called “It Takes A Friend.” I’m raising money to help them, and you can help me do it! Please make a donation today or consider joining this fundraising team!
