I have been an animal lover since birth, my mother used to say that stray animals constantly followed me home because they somehow knew I would figure out a way to help find them what they needed to be safe. Whether it was a comfortable place to have their babies or a new start in life with a family, I always helped them find a solution. I started volunteering with BAHS in 2017 when my youngest child was off to college and left my husband and I with an empty nest. I joined the fostering program in 2019 and have been Blessed with the honor of caring for and preparing many sweet innocent souls for their forever homes. I can honestly say this has been one of the most rewarding and inspirational experiences of my life. The amount of love and care the staff, volunteers and supporters bestow upon the Mission of BAHS to “improve the lives of homeless animals in our community through adoption, humane education and community outreach” is exponential. With the unfortunate arrival of COVID 19 several fundraising events have been postponed or canceled. Many 100% donor funded organizations like BAHS will feel the effects of this for a long time. This nation as well as our community have always come together and rallied to overcome unexpected and unprecedented crisis such as what is occurring in our World today. Any donation you can spare, no matter how big or small, is greatly appreciated to help support BAHS in their continual effort to help homeless animals in our community with care and compassion.
"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." ― Mahatma Gandhi
