EMERGENCY COVID-19 SOLIDARITY RESPONSE

Hey my friends, I need your help, aim raising funds for emergency COVID-19 (Coronavirus) response support for persons with disabilities (deaf people).

According to the World Health Organization, the COVID-19 virus has reached pandemic levels and no one should remain behind in education, health issues and prosperity. Since persons with disabilities are at the peripherals of the society, they are usually the last individuals to receive information.

In view of this, Maboshe Memorial Centre (MMC) noticed that most of the times, persons with disabilities (deaf people) are at the peripherals of information released on how to help person with disabilities (deaf people) are considered at the very last minute for anything good in societies. To illustrate this perception, one can look at the way information on the corona virus has been communicated to the general populous. 

Please consider partnering with us, as we seek ways to prevent the spread of Covid-19/Coronavirus, protect and provide essential services to thousands of person with disabilities (deaf people) in our programmes and communities..

 We have put a contingency plan in place and are looking for support with:

• Food parcels (non-perishable item such as nutritional porridge (JAM), powdered milk, sugar, juice, fruit, peanut butter etc.)
• Hygiene items (paper towels, tissues, soap, hand sanitiser)
• Craft materials for activity packs (colouring in pencils, crayons, glue, paper, colouring-in books etc.)
• Reading books and academic materials
• Supplies of pairs of face masks.
• Supplies of hand sanitizers.
• Supplies of Soap.
• Supplies of hand washing facilities.
• Supplies of COVID-19 IEC materials.
• Sensitization awareness in deaf communities and health care facilities.
• COVID-19 Emergency Hotline Telephone Operators Call Centres.
• COVID-19 community radio programmes & social media platforms and other accessories to protect themselves.

Your donation will help to limit the spread of the virus and reduce the impact on poor person with disabilities (deaf people), together we will save life and stop the spread of corona virus among person with disabilities (deaf people) communities
