And it all starts at 8PM on a Friday night.
Support a Late Night.
Our goal covers one Friday Night! Late Night provides mentors, food, resources, and activities to keep youth engaged, fed, and off the streets. This program directly offers alternative activities to gang-involvement, drugs, and violence during a formative time in young peoples' lives. But TeamWRK cannot do without you. As opiate-related deaths among teenagers soar, this free late night afterschool program is desperately needed in Pierce County.
For young people in the sixth through twelve grade, Late Night might serve their only meal of the weekend, be the only positive force in their lives, or their only safe place.
This program was created by youth voice. Youth advocated for themselves and spoke honestly about difficult subjects like food insecurity, gang influences and involvement, and drug use. Late Night was born from these conversations and we will continue to listen.
But meal ingredients, gaming systems, and creating a fun & safe space are costly. Our nonprofit organization, TeamWRK, never charges any youth. We seek to dismantle barriers, not establish them. That means we have to rely on funding from donors like you. Can you help?
