Clean Water and Healthy Riverbanks

Our mission:

The purpose of the Corporation is to protect, enhance and raise awareness of theenvironmental, cultural and economic health of the water, land and communities of the [West River] Basin 11 watershed and those of smaller adjacent streams. 

We have expanded our work to include many other major tributaries of the Connecticut River in Windham County, Vermont. 

We NEED support to continue our long history of monitoring the rivers of Southeastern Vermont and to expand our presence and programs within our service area. Many towns would benefit if we could expand our water monitoring program (testing for e.coli and gathering other data in area swimming holes and tributaries). We also have current grant projects related to reforestation of riverbanks post-Irene, and Japanese knotweed (a serious invasive plant) abatement. Our budget is small, feeds directly into our projects, and we very much need contributions of any size.
