Don't Let Her Smile Fool You - Lacey Has Heartworm

Lacey was surrendered to a rural shelter after her owner could no longer afford to care for her or provide any vetting after she had a litter of puppies. Because of your support, Lacey arrived at Homeward Trails last week but she tested positive for heartworm disease. It's not surprising as her previous owners hadn't gotten her spayed so she likely wasn't on life-saving heartworm preventatives. Now she needs treatment which will make sure she makes a full recovery and can have a long and happy life.
