At Lee Montessori, we go the extra mile to ensure our students can explore, discover, and learn both inside the classroom and out. Dr. Maria Montessori herself understood the important role of nature and outdoor play on a child's healthy development:
“There must be provision for the child to have contact with nature; to understand and appreciate the order, the harmony and the beauty in nature.”
But we also know that DC weather can be unpredictable, and without the right gear at school, students can't stay warm, dry, and safe while playing outside -- all year round. That's why this #GivingTuesday, we're raising funds to purchase rain gear (rain suits, ponchos, rain boots) that our students can use year after year. Everyone has something to give and every act of generosity counts!
