Lennox was born at 23 weeks gestation. He spent 5 months in the NICU. After spending a few months at home Lennox started to have prolonged seizures and would be hospitalized a few times a month. Lennox was a candidate for genetic testing, we found out Lennox has the pathogenic gene variant SCN1A and he was diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome at 1 year old. Dravet is an intractable epilepsy, on top of the multiple seizures daily it can cause developmental delays. One gift we would love to give Lennox is a service dog not only to alert us when Lennox is having a seizure or but also give Lennox a companionship and support developmentally and emotionally.
Services dogs and their training cost around $40,000 to $60,000. With the help of 4 Paws for Ability we need to raise $17,000.00 for Lennox to be put on the wait list to be placed with the dog trained for him! Please help us gift Lennox this service dog, he has fought hard to get to this point and we would love to improve his quality of living.
