Liam’s Heart:
Our beautiful Liam left us unexpectedly on February 25 2021, at just shy of 10 months old. Doctors tell us that Liam was very sick, with what they believe is an illness known as “Williams Syndrome.” But, with his incredibly happy demeanor, you would have never known. Liam never had so much as a sneeze and we will forever treasure that, although tragically short, we had 300 perfect days.
In the weeks to come, we hope to find final diagnosis and answers to what caused our beautiful little boy to leave us so soon. We intend to make Liam’s life and memory purposeful by supporting programs that help children and families struggling with similar heart conditions to his, assist in providing funding for music therapy programs, and scholarships for students who will be pursuing music in their future.
We appreciate your support in helping honor our greatest love, Liam John McQuillan.
About Liam:
Every one who met him always made two observations: he was truly a beautiful baby and simply the happiest. Since day one, he had an affinity for music. Moana's "You're Welcome" would make him laugh over and over and he only learned to crawl by going after his music machine. We spent our mornings singing Sesame Street classics, but Elmo was a big part of all our days. He would wind his wrists and "dance" with such excitement.
Liam had such long hair from the day he was born and it just got longer and longer. It was always blocking his eyes, but he was never bothered. He had four teeth ( and two more just days away from popping through). He had just mastered drinking through a straw, but was a long-time pro at holding his own "baba" and using an open cup. To say he had a great appetite would be an understatement. We would say it's not what does he eat, it's what won't he eat. Pizza, falafel, pancakes, bagels, cream cheese, french toast, eggs, raspberries- everything he tried, he loved.
Liam could say "Dada" "Mama" and " Baba" and was just starting to say "Hi." He loved to bang his toys together and would knock on everything just to hear the sound. He was an incredible sleeper - giving us 12 hour nights from just a few weeks old. He loved high activity: lights, swings, slides, and his car toys. He was a high fashion guy with a different outfit for every occasion. He adored the outdoors: hiking, camping, the beach, stroller walks and just playing in the grass. Of all his activities, swimming was arguably his favorite. He lit up every week as we walked into Saf-T-Swim.
Liam filled each life he touched with joy, laughter, and love. We will continue to miss him more each and every day.
