We have stage one fully operational and now are looking to start stage two. Our transformation home. Here's a short description of both programs.

Stage 1 I See ME Free

Stage one Begins while incarcerated. All charges and sentence lengths are eligible. Stage one has four phases each consisting of therapeutic interventions critical thinking, cognitive behavior, and Trauma environment recovery model combined with biblical specialties workbook that each returning citizen completes with a mentor that has been interest matched to them. Each returning citizen spends approximately 12 to 18 months per workbook. 

  • Mentors are required to make weekly contact by mail, email, biweekly cards, monthly physical visitation or video visitation, and two packages. Package options include shoes, clothes, hygiene, or food.
  • At intake we obtain personal and family history of drug use, abuse, and other criminal elements. We also provide a transitional plan assessment asking if they have required documentation such as Social Security Card, Driver’s License, and Birth Certificate. 
  • We evaluate each returning citizens finical situation and support system. 
  • At intake and after each phase completion assessments are conducted to monitor improvements for: Empathy, Critical Thinking, Social Competence, Conflict Resolution, and Civic Participation. 
  • Every 30 days each returning citizen takes wellness and program participation evaluations. 
  • Every returning citizen is required to report all disciplinary actions and must turn in a printed disciplinary report from counselor annually. 
  • 90 days prior to expected release each returning citizen updates their transitional plan to ensure that a safe and crime free environment is available to the returning citizen. 

 

Stage 2 Daughters of Zion transformational living home

Violent and nonviolent offenders will qualify; however, sex offenders are handled on a case by case bases. Each parolee (returned citizen) will complete the required workbook material in stage one if not already completed before release. They have a required course list to be taken consisting of a financial course, interview skills and resume writing, and other job readiness programming such as computer skills needed for success when obtaining employment, each parolee will continue mandatory assessments form stage 1.

  • Stage two is 3-6 months in a group house.
  • 20 volunteer hours a week to help adjust back into large crowds and unknown places as well as meet any parole requirements.
  • financial courses modeled from consumer.gov to address credit reports and effects of negative credit, obtaining credit reports and how to handle problems such as: if your identity has been stolen and incorrect reports, banking, and money management.  
  • Interview skills
  • Resume writing
  • Computer courses: this will be case by case depending on charge and length incarcerated.

 

Stage three freedom apartment

To qualify each parolee must complete stage 1 and stage 2. This is group living in an apartment on a smaller scale. Each parolee in this phase has been referred to HireLiving for job placement or another staffing agency. Once employment is established cell phones are mandated and no cash is allowed.  

  • 3 to 6 months to complete
  • Approved cellphone is required for tracking
  • Prepaid cards with direct deposit are to be used. In the event cash is needed it must be approved.
  • If leaving without approval parolee has 3 hours to make contact or is subject to dismissal. after 24 hours without contact parolee is removed from program and parole officer is notified. 
  • All assessments started in stage one will continue. 
  • Mandatory weekly contact between parolee and case manager.

Stage four independent successful living 

After stage 3 is completed satisfactory we help the parolee get a personal apartment.

  • 3 to 6 months to complete
  • Responsible for all financial activities.
  • Mandatory monthly case manager contact where bank statements will be reviewed 
  • All stage one assessments still apply. 

Stage five after care

Parolee may reach out at any time below is what is mandated

  • One-year assessment
  • After completion of sentence the rehabilitation may reach out to us to see if they qualify for a pardon from the parole board.
