Founded on February 13, 1950, the Lexington Lions Club has been serving the citizens of Lexington and the surrounding area for over 70 years. We are a part of Lions Clubs International, which is the largest service organization in the world.
Fundraising Efforts
To fund the efforts of the Lions Club, two primary fundraisers are held each year: a community pancake feed and the peach/pear sales. While the Lions Club organizes these events, it is the community of Lexington that makes them a success, and a great deal of the proceeds stay in the Lexington area. Without the support of individuals and businesses in and around our great community, this would not be possible.
Just to highlight a few of the things the Lions Club does with proceeds . . .
- Provide eyeglasses and eye exam assistance to the less fortunate
- Collect eyeglasses and hearing aids for mission trips to Central and South America
- Clean community parks and roadways
- Screen school students each year for vision and hearing , as well as vision screening for preschool students
- Provide hearing aid assistance to the less fortunate
- Built the gazebo in Kirkpatrick Park
- Provide scholarships for area youth
- Help raise funds for the Salvation Army
- Provide free health care screening at local health fairs
- Support Mid-Nebraska Community Action programs
- Purchased two recycling trailers for the city of Lexington
- Host conventions that bring 100’s of people to Lexington
- Assisted individuals in obtaining Leader Dogs
- Provide individual assistance for the less fortunate

- In addition, our Lions also volunteer at the Majestic Theatre and delivered Meals on Wheels
When it comes to meeting challenges, our response is simple: We Serve. It's something that unites Lions around the world. And it's unconditional. We help wherever, whenever, and however we can.
