A Kitten Having Kittens!

One of our rural partner shelters had a big surprise waiting for them yesterday morning when they arrived to work. Little Lucy, only 6 months old herself, had given birth to 3 premature kittens overnight. Little Lucy wasn't ready for motherhood, she has no milk and no idea what is happening. Luckily, the staff sprung into action bottle feeding the babies. But they aren't equipped to provide the tiny, delicate kittens the round-the-clock care they need and do not have fosters available. The smallest kitten was only 1 ounce! For reference, most newborn kittens are around 3-5 ounces. Because mom has no milk, they need to be exclusively bottle fed. Sadly, one of the kittens has already passed. Little Lucy and the two remaining kittens are going to have an uphill battle and need all the support they can get.

When they asked for our help with this new family, we sprung into action. We have secured a bottle feeder and are ready to welcome mom and kittens into foster. And are prepared to do everything we can to give them the chance to not only survive, but thrive! Please help us care for this family when they need us most!
