About Us:
Mike, Alanna, and Lizzie Halloran—a father-daughter trio!—are taking on the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon to help find a cure for NF2. But we can’t reach this finish line alone. We need you on our team!
In 2017, Alanna and her identical twin sister, Lizzie, were both diagnosed with NF2 (neurofibromatosis type 2) in the middle of seventh grade. After two brain surgeries, a spinal surgery, lip surgeries, and days spent in MRI scans and infusion rooms, Lizzie and Alanna are pleased to say that while NF2 has become a major part of their lives, so has the incredible love, generosity, and support of their family, friends, and community.
That support has given our family so much hope. We truly believe that a cure is within reach!
Every dollar raised helps accelerate NF2 research and move promising studies closer to the next phase. Whether it’s $25, $50, $100, or simply sharing our fundraiser with someone else, every bit of support matters. Every contribution brings us another step closer to treatments—and ultimately, a cure.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 for NF2 research, and we would be incredibly grateful to have you join us. We’ll run the 13.1 miles—you can help us make every mile count. 💛
Together, let’s make the magic of a cure a reality! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Mike, Danette, Alanna, and Lizzie Halloran
What is NF2?
Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2) is a rare disorder affecting 2/28,000 people and is characterized by the development of tumors like schwannomas that cause significant daily physical and emotional suffering for patients. Finding a cure or preventative treatment is crucial to ensure that those living with NF2 can lead full and productive lives. Additionally, because mutations in the NF2 gene are present in many other benign tumors and cancers, developing a cure for NF2 could ultimately pave the way for treating a wide range of other conditions, including sporadic vestibular schwannomas, meningiomas, and over twenty cancer types that contain NF2 mutations.
