To help parents meet the COVID-19 pandemic's lingering effects, Parents Forum needs your support!

$2,050

$2,000 goal

The COVID-19 pandemic’s approaching official end does not mean that its effects on families have ended. Young people and their parents are struggling to overcome the learning lag created by many months of remote schooling and, even more troubling, some are suffering serious mental health problems. Parents Forum wants to be able to help more parents develop the emotional awareness and communications skills to successfully meet these challenges. We need your help to do this!

In USA Today’s 2020 crowdfunding program A Community Thrives, in 2021 and again last year, you came through for us! This year we want to raise $3200 with our Love and Luck 2023 fundraiser, that’s $100/day between Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day. Any amount, large or small, will move us toward this goal and build our capacity to serve more individual parents and parent groups.

An online Q&A on Parents Forum program will be offered at 9am ET on Wednesday Feb.22nd. Please inquire to info@parentsforum.orgfor the link to attend.

On May 15th International Day of Families we will re-launch our curriculum, now in revision with help of two wonderful individuals who came to us through the Cambridge Volunteer Clearinghouse. On that date we will also open our annual invitation to prospective new partners. Over summer we will train partners’ staff and volunteers to facilitate Parents Forum workshops so that they can begin working directly with parents in the fall.

ICYMI, the Pew Charitable Research Center, in its January 2023 “Parenting in America Today” study, reports that mental health concerns top the list of worries for parents and most say being a parent is harder than they expected. Let’s respond by making parenting education and support widely available, accessible, affordable and attractive.

Please help us help parents! We start with love and Happy Valentine’s Day wishes to all our friends and want to finish with luck and a Happy St. Patrick’s Day greeting. We will be very grateful for your support!
