About Me
Proud to participate for the 3rd year - CIC is an outstanding program building a more equitable playing field for students in STEM. This year is going to be kind of a new challenge - I'll be doing pull ups for an hour and pushups for an hour - yes, I'm crazy - fingers crossed!
About Push For Entrepreneurship
The Push For Entrepreneurship Event was designed to raise funds for underserved youth in Bridgeport through the power of fitness. All funds raised go directly to support K-12 Invention Convention programs in some of Connecticut's most in-need school districts. All donations are tax deductible.
If you'd like to support the Push For Entrepreneurship fundraiser, you can either donate directly or register as a fundraiser (a "pusher"), and raise funds directly for October 16, when you will do two hours of exercise to support young inventors in the state.
- Who. Hundreds of parents, fitness buffs, educators, inventors, and community supporters who believe in the importance of young inventors and/or heathy living.
- What. Doing two hours of exercise in a celebration of young ingenuity and a commitment to supporting students without ready access to innovation programs.
- Where. Wakeman Boys and Girls Club 385 Center St Southport, CT 06890
- When. October 16, from 9am EST to 1pm EST.
- Why. Because EVERY child deserves to be an inventor, and to learn that they have the power to change the world.
- How. When a community comes together to support those who go without, anything is possible.
The Impact of Push For Entrepreneurship
Last year, the Push For Entrepreneurship Fundraiser raised more than $40,000. Here's the impact the Connecticut Invention Convention was able to achieve with these funds:
- Underserved Students: The Connecticut Invention Convention brought programs to 878 underserved students in Greater Bridgeport through the funds raised by Push For Entrepreneurship.
- Underserved Schools: The Connecticut Invention Convention brought its programs to 19 underserved schools in the Greater Bridgeport area through the funds raised by Push For Entrepreneurship.
- Urban Program Coordinator: As a result of the funds raised by Push For Entrepreneurship, the Connecticut Invention Convention was able to hire an Urban Programs Coordinator dedicated to supporting in-need schools.
