Luca needs the help of a Veterinary Behaviorist

$550

raised by 7 people

$450 goal

Luca was recently adopted and sadly returned, after exhibiting some defensive behaviors that are likely pain-related. We believe these behavior issues can be addressed, but we need the specialized help of a Veterinary Behaviorist.

Luca was returned because he was soliciting attention from his adopters and when they would pet him, he would respond by snapping or biting. He has also been displaying signs of generalized anxiety, which likely is exacerbating his issues.

Veterinary Behaviorists are an extremely helpful resource when it comes to solving complex behavior issues in animals. Veterinary Behaviorists use a combination of science-based techniques and treatments, including medication and behavior modification, to treat abnormal behaviors in companion animals by determining their underlying motivations and creating a comprehensive plan for changing these motivations to ensure that our pets have the best quality of life possible.

Without help, these behaviors will limit the outcomes for Luca. But we know these behaviors do not define him. With specialized care and attention, we can modify these behaviors and get Luca on the right path to finding a real forever home!
