Lucas' Family Had to Give Him Up

As our team in Puerto Rico sat at the Burger King for a meeting (it is the only place open in Guanica due to the earthquakes) a lovely woman approached us, seeing our GuaniCARES t-shirts. In tears, she told us that her house had been destroyed, her mother had died just two days prior, she had not had time to deal with the burial and she had a beloved family dog at home they could not take with them. Could we take him? His name was Lucas. Of course we said yes. Our staff went to meet him and get his photo, retrieve his vet records and move him to a safe temp foster location. Now he's ready to make the move over to the DC area. Help us assure his family that he's safe and sound and loved.
