Sweet Babies Barely Survived Living on the Streets

Sweet 7 month old babies Lucy and Leela are quite the dynamic duo.  By some miracle, after living as stray street dogs in Puerto Rico, they were found and rescued by Homeward Trail's Puerto Rican animal rescue partner.  Street life for adult dogs is hard enough, but two puppies - it is truly shocking they didn't get hit by a car, poisoned by awful people or attacked by bigger animals. Every night they found whatever garbage or cardboard they could find, and cuddled up for warmth and safety.  There were so many strange noises and scary scenes; Lucy and Leela were never sure if that would be their last night.  They were more than ecstatic when a kind volunteer from the local dog rescue came to save them.  So close to being home free - except they now don't have a home! The rescue is so much better than living on the streets, but we don't want to fail these baby girls.  Please sponsor their big freedom rides to the DC area and we will do our best to not only provide them with vet care, but also help teach them that the world isn't such a bad place.
