Luke Escaped Abuse, Now He Needs to Beat Heartworm

Luke is a sweet pup with a bad history. He was found as a stray, with collars embedded deep into his neck! Who knows how long he had been on his own--or how long he'd been abused before getting away! The poor pup is still recovering from his ordeal and he's scared. He's learning to trust humans who, maybe for the first time in his life, are trying to show him what kindness and compassion look like. 

We're prepared to do all we can to help Luke heal and learn to trust, to find his new life with a family that will cherish him for the rest of his days. But first, we have to provide the critical, lifesaving heartworm treatments he needs to survive! 

Heartworm is deadly. Too many dogs die from heartworm, especially when it's easily preventable--and just as easily treatable. Unfortunately, the cost for treatment is high. But unless we act now, actual worms will continue to grow and multiply inside the chambers of Luke's heart. Eventually, they will take up so much space that Luke will have  hard time breathing. He will become incredibly lethargic. Each breath will feel like a chore, until eventually, his organs will shut down. No longer able to support him.

That doesn't have to be Luke's end. There's a treatment and a whole future out there for him! We just need your help to get it.
