The Arc Caddo-Bossier’s GREAT Program provides therapeutic horseback riding, along with other equine assisted services, to adults and children with disabilities. Therapeutic horseback riding lessons are offered in both private and group settings. These groups include classes from Caddo and Desoto Parish School Systems' Adaptive Physical Education Programs. GREAT also offers “An Equine Experience,” an equine assisted learning program that focuses on mental health and the development of life skills for educational, professional and personal goals.

Last but certainly not least, GREAT hosts Camp Victory in the summer, an inclusive camp where children ages 4-10, with and without disabilities, can learn and play together! Camp Victory is a week-long camp (M-F) offered twice each year, in the first two weeks of June. Each day, campers will participate in therapeutic horseback riding, arts and crafts, and team building opportunities hosted by local partners, such as Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park and Francine the Falconer.

All of GREAT's instructors are certified through PATH International (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship), meaning they are trained to teach in a way that contributes to the overall well-being of each of their students. Equine assisted services have proven to offer physical, emotional, and social benefits to riders, and we see those changes every day at The Arc Caddo-Bossier’s GREAT Program.
