If you see Artemis on the trails of Fort Collins, you may have stopped to say:

"Is that a greyhound?"

"I bet she's fast!"

"I love her markings!"

"She's so cute!"

Whippets, also known as the "poor man's race horse" were originally bred to pursue and capture small game. They are a sighthound breed that originated in England, where they descended from Greyhounds. The whippet, Bourbon, has won Best in Show at the 2020 AKC dog show, putting whippets on the map in the US.

Artemis, named after the Goddess of the Hunt, is a 2 year old brindle whippet. She can be found around Fort Collins hiking the Poudre Trail, chasing squirrels and rabbits, sprinting at Soft Gold Park, catching the frisbee with her dad, patio sitting around town, playing with her friends Loaf and Doobie, or joining her humans for ice cream at Churn in the Exchange. She is also starting to work on agility courses and love running through the tunnel.

After some good runs and back at home, Artemis can be found sun bathing in the yard, smelling flowers, playing with a squirrel toy, watching agility on TV, or snuggling on the couch in a soft blanket with her people, Ashley & Ben.

Artemis would be the perfect pick for Fort Collins, Best Dog.
