Soul Healing provides aftercare to survivors of sexual abuse and human trafficking. We offer services in Camby, Indiana. We are a 501c3 nonprofit.

Why do we need these services?

When we experience trauma, our brain changes, the most important notable change is the Broca area of the brain that controls speech and the amygdala, which controls information processing.  Trauma can change the blood flow and the size of the frontal cortex, which is also how we control our emotions. (Harris House, 2017)

It is vital to provide services to survivors that do not include talk therapy. To overcome trauma, we have to heal the parts of the brain that are damaged.

What do we do?

We provide Art Therapy, Equine Therapy, family and individual support groups. We empower survivors with inclusive activities where they know they are not alone and they are with others that understand what they are going through.

What is the true cost?

The true cost for services adds up to about $235.00  lesson for equine therapy and $150.00 for Art Therapy. We do not charge families and rely solely on support from donations and the community.

What is equine therapy?

Equine therapy is a form of therapy provided by nurturing a relationship with a horse. These therapies can provide help with relationship challenges, trust issues, hypervigilance, body autonomy, and post-traumatic stress.

What is Art Therapy?

The art therapy we provide is process art. Process art is emotional expression art. We provide process art as an emotional expression because we know survivors have to have an emotional outlet. Due to the trauma and changes in the brain, this is next to impossible without some way of healing that damage.
