Imagine being a kid going to school in Metro Detroit without mittens or gloves to keep your hands warm. Imagine not being able to have fun with your friends on the playground because it's too cold on your hands when you try to hold the swings chains or climb the playground equipment. Imagine trying to hold a pen or turn a book's page or paint or play an instrument when you arrive in your classroom. Imagine not being able to make a snowman or play in the new snow when you get home.
Now imagine that you can easily make a big difference in all of those scenarios. When you support Mittens for Detroit in Pontiac, you'll have a huge impact on kids in who live in and around the city. Because of you, MFD will be able to use its purchasing power to buy thousands of pairs for our young neighbors. You'll make winter fun for these children, and you'll help them arrive at school ready to learn, ready to thrive.
Please join Mittens for Detroit to make this the best winter ever for kids in Pontiac.
Thank you!
About Mittens for Detroit in Pontiac
Mittens for Detroit in Pontiac is a project of the 501c3 nonprofit charity Mittens for Detroit. Since the first year of the project in 2021, more than 20,000 pairs of new mittens and gloves have been collected and funded by a group of businesses, individuals, and organizations in Pontiac. This is MFD's first project outside of Wayne County.
Mittens for Detroit was established in 2010 with the mission to collect, purchase, and distribute new mittens and gloves to children, teens, and adults in need in Detroit, Michigan and other nearby underserved cities. Since it's start, close to 375,000 pairs have been put on hands through our network of Distribution Partners.
