First and foremost, our staff and volunteers are the best there are! Smart, curious, compassionate, and sensible people doing everything they can to help others. They could be doing something else with their time, but they choose to help others find ways to make lives better, safer, healthier. 

Every single employee puts service and accountability before ego. No matter whether they provide direct services, or make sure we are accountable to our funders, they all know that the people we serve come first and are the reason we do what we do.

People think we are a bigger agency than we are, because our small staff are joined by energetic volunteers who know how important it is to give back and help their neighbors.  As we watch federal and state budget negotiations, we know we will increasingly come to depend on the kindness of neighbors. 

Whether providing a ride to a doctor or grocery store, helping with a smart phone, addressing hazards in the home to prevent falls, replacing light bulbs, mowing a lawn, preparing for emergencies and knowing who will need our help, renting an unused room to a older adult who can't afford today's housing market, helping someone understand a medical bill or insurance coverage, visiting a nursing home, or simply spending time with someone as a friend, what we do to help others actually helps ourselves.
