DRC: India Missions Team 2016 - Marcelo Pinell

Dear Family & Friends,

This has been a season of great transition. As many of you know, Ashley and I were married this past December and moved down to Los Angeles to serve alongside Del Rey Church in the mission of glorifying God through the faithful witness and proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ that liberates sinners from the bondage of sin. We have missed our family and friends back in the Bay ever so much, but we give thanks to God for your prayers and support of us in striving to walk in a manner worthy of the gospel. I share with much joy in telling you that the Lord has been faithful to provide for us thus far and we trust that he will continue to do so. We have an affordable place to rent in LA, we have jobs, I finally graduated, Ash is pregnant, and opportunities in Spanish ministry are beginning to open up for us. Praise be to God!

As you can tell, much is happening in the Pinell household. We are enjoying doing life in community at Del Rey, striving with God’s power to spread this message of salvation at work and in the city. What a joy it has been! And now God in his mercy has granted me the privilege of partaking in the gospel-cause by heading this summer on a short-term mission’s trip with Del Rey to India to continue our partnership with an indigenous pastor there. By the grace of God, we have been invited once again to help support the church’s local missionary efforts and desire to see gospel-centered churches planted among the unreached Metei and Kuki tribes. Upon the request of the pastor, this year we will be teaching and training lay leaders in Marriage and Family Discipleship with the goal of seeing the Holy Spirit raise them up to be faithful followers of Christ who will lead biblically, preach truthfully, and effectively make disciples.

The trip will take place September 17th – October 2nd and as always there is much to do before that time. My hope is that you will partner with me in the gospel by supporting me in two ways. The first is by praying for the team and I, namely, that we would be united in the Holy Spirit, striving together as one for the sake of the gospel’s advancement in India. The second is that you would financially support this work. Each member of the team is responsible for raising their own money for the trip. In order to be fully funded, I need to raise $3000. My prayer is that 30 of you would be willing to support me by giving $100. If $100 is not possible, then please consider donating what you have decided in your heart.
