This is Maxwell, and he is absolutely terrified in the shelter!

Maxwell has always struggled with anxiety--he's even on medication for it! Loud noises, fireworks, babies--they all make him nervous. But that doesn't mean he isn't a good boy! When he's feeling comfortable and brave, he is good with both dogs and people.

Maxwell was surrendered for being too territorial. He was always protective of his person, growling at people who came near his person while he was on her lap. But once his person brought home a new baby, Maxwell really struggled to cope. He wasn't adjusting well so his person thought there might be a home better fit for him out there somewhere.

We certainly agree. There has to be a better fit for Maxwell out there -- someone who will love him unconditionally, and give him the space he needs to feel confident and brave. That's why we want to get him out of the shelter, and into a loving foster home that can help him conquer his fears and find a new family.

Maxwell is a 7-year-old miniature schnauzer mix. Your support will get him to Homeward Trails and cover the costs for a dental he very, very desperately needs!
