Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana serves over 10,000 youth in 10 Clubs and 11 school based sites. The Clubs assist youth in reaching their full potential emphasizing academic preparedness, good character and citizenship and healthy lifestyles. Programs instill values on members to live drug free, treat others with respect and follow their dreams.
The attached video includes comments from the kids at our clubs. Students who experience bullying are at increased risk for poor school adjustment, sleep difficulties, anxiety, and depression. In Indiana, 49% of youth in grades 4-12 reported being bullied at school. I became involved with the Board of Directors after attending the Youth of the Year Program during which 4 of the 5 nominees mentioned our Clubs provided safety from bullying. The Boys & Girls Clubs allow kids to be in a safe place and be themselves. They learn life and leadership skills and have a sense of belonging.
Membership at the Boys & Girls Clubs is only $35 per year. We are able to offer our programs at a low cost due to generous donors that offset the operating costs. Please consider a donation to help the youth of our community succeed and prosper.
