Merrit H Jones
Transplant Type: Kidney
Merrit Jones is fighting for his life. He has been diagnosed with kidney failure, a long-term effect from a car accident over 30 years ago. Merrit recently began dialysis treatments, which take a toll on his quality of life. Doctors now say a kidney transplant is critical for his survival.
During this difficult time, he is thankful for the support of his community. He is especially grateful for his girlfriend, Rose, who has supported him through his illness. Due to his declining health, Merrit has had to reduce his work to part-time and he looks forward to having a transplant that will allow him to work full-time once again. More than anything, he cannot wait to regain his energy and eat whatever he wants again. But, right now, he needs your help.
The average kidney transplant costs more than $414,000, and that’s only the beginning. Even with insurance, which will cover a portion of the transplant costs, Merrit still faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of his life, he will need follow-up care and anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are very expensive, and they’re as critical to his survival as the transplant itself.
You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to NFT in honor of Merrit. If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to National Foundation for Transplants, 3249 W. Sarazen’s Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Merrit Jones” on the memo line.
Thank you for your generosity!
